Mercury Sound Returns!

• NEW LINE-UP: After a 9 month break from rehearsals and touring, I am glad to announce that MERCURY SOUND is back with a re-energized new lineup. We would like to welcome Charlie Parker, as our new bass player. Charlie is a seasoned musician and he has toured the world many times over with the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus. Charlie has toured a lot with us through the last couple of years as a roadie/guitar tech/drinking buddy.

• SHOW: Friday, March 11th 2005, Blank Club, San Jose, CA: We have been in rehearsals for the past few weeks in preparations for a show at The Blank Club, Friday March 11th in San Jose, CA. We’re honored to be sharing the stage with our old friends DIVIDED and SECURITY which makes this a show not to be missed! So come early, it just may sell out.

• NEW MATERIAL/RECORDING: Shortly before the break we recorded a demo of about 8 songs which we’ve been chewing on for the past year or so. With the newer material we are re-visiting some of our heavier roots while staying true to our melodic edge. There are an additional few songs that have been written since we’ve been in rehearsal in the last couple of month. We are hoping to begin recording these tunes around late-April.

• EVERYDAY HERO: I have been involved with a new punk/rock project called EVERYDAY HERO with my good friend and partner in crime, Mark Aceves, who is the ex-bassist for MS (and prior to that STITCH). Also on board are Rob Upson (ex-NO USE FOR A NAME) and Scott Gibson (ex-SPIRIT FARM). We have been working a bunch of new high-energy punk rock tunes in the same vein as HOT WATER MUSIC/ LEATHERFACE etc. I am totally stoked on the music. Look out for more on this as we finish up the new batch of songs and get ready to hit the show circuit. Also check the yet to be built http://www.everydayherorocks.com

Mercury Sound friends and fans:

We have decided to put the band on a semi-permanent haitus till further notice. On behalf of all of us I want to thank each and every person who came to the shows and bought our merchandise...you made it the some of the best times we've ever had...so It's with a little sadness that we say goodbye to you for now.

There are plans to record the latest batch of songs we've been playing live. They will most likely be available through this website. Check back for details.

We will be playing two South Bay shows in April:
April 13th at the Vodoo Lounge, San Jose w/ security, last amanda, and others

April 19th at Wave's, San Jose (This will be our farewell show)

I will be doing Acoustic Sets of my solo material as well as MERCURY SOUND material, and some other tunes you may recognize in very near future. Check this website for dates as they become set.

Kasey has joined another band and you'll be seeing lots of him I'm sure.
